WHAT'S YOUR STORY, CHORLEY?

Saturday 25th March 2023

A six member team including our President Sid Calderbank, Secretary Sarah Robin, Competitions’ secretary Olive Riley, long standing members Jeanette Greaves, Dan Forrester and new member Mahmood Ahmed spent an enjoyable session on the main stage in Chorley Theatre on Saturday representing the Lancashire Authors’ Association.

Our session was immediately after an interview with Sir Lindsey Hoyle, very interesting too. I was a little concerned as to how we would follow that especially as the interviewer was intent on telling the audience about the many other attractions in Chorley and encouraging them to go out and stroll around.

However, several people did remain for our session and our members all performed their own works or extract of the same, extremely well, raising the profile of LAA.

One gentleman, who had been a member some time ago, decided that he would re-join and went away happily with a leaflet giving him our membership secretary’s details.
